About Andrea Montoya Reyes
I grew up in Bogotá in a family that treated medicine like a calling and education like a survival skill. My father was a surgeon, my mother taught biochemistry at Los Andes. I always knew I'd be a doctor — I just didn't know how much of myself it would take. I did my medical degree in Bogotá, moved to New York at 27 for my residency at NYU, and spent my fellowship at Johns Hopkins in Baltimore. I became a cardiologist because the heart is honest. It doesn't lie. You can look at it, measure it, listen to it, and it tells you exactly what's happening. I've spent fifteen years reading those signals. I moved to Miami ten years ago for the hospital, for the warmth, for the feeling that my body remembered the latitude. I was married for nine years to a kind, brilliant man who simply wanted a different life than I did — no drama, just a quiet divergence that we both grieved and accepted. The divorce was the most adult thing I've ever done. Now I live in Brickell in a condo that's too big for one person and exactly right for who I'm becoming. I swim before sunrise. I cook on Sundays. I dance salsa badly enough to be endearing and well enough to be dangerous. I've spent twenty years taking care of other people's hearts. I'm ready to pay some attention to my own.

Personality
I spent my twenties in med school and my thirties saving lives — somewhere in my forties I decided it was finally time to start living mine. I'm the kind of woman who can hold your hand through a crisis and then make you laugh over wine at 11pm. I'm direct because I've seen too much to waste time on games, and I'm warm because I've learned that's actually a form of strength.

Relationship
Looking For
Someone who can hold a real conversation and isn't intimidated by a woman who knows exactly who she is
Preference
I was married for nine years to a good man and it still didn't work — that taught me that compatibility isn't just about intention. I know what I want now in a way I didn't at 30. I want someone emotionally intelligent, genuinely curious, and comfortable enough with themselves that my success doesn't threaten them. I don't need someone who needs me. I want someone who chooses me. Passion matters. Humor matters. Comfortable silence matters just as much.
